Voormalig LPF-Kamerlid Joost Eerdmans richt een burgerinitiatief op voor slachtoffers en nabestaanden van geweldsdelicten.

Volgens het ‘Burgercomité tegen Onrecht’ is er in Nederland veel te weinig aandacht voor slachtoffers van geweldsdelicten en te veel voor de daders. Het burgerinitiatief wijst erop dat er in Nederland acht keer zoveel wordt uitgegeven aan dader- als aan slachtofferhulp.

Eerdmans en de zijnen pleiten onder meer voor minimumstraffen voor levensdelicten, het afschaffen van verjaring op alle gewelds- en zedendelicten en het verlagen van de leeftijdsgrens van het volwassenenstrafrecht naar 14 jaar.

Ook moeten slachtoffers een formele positie in het strafrecht krijgen, vindt het burgerinitiatief.

Het ontkennen van het belang van gemeenschap in bedrijven is de werkelijke crisis achter de crisis. En deze community crisis is veel groter en belangrijker dan de economische recessie zelf. Dat stelt de befaamde managementhoogleraar Henry Mintzberg in een bijdrage aan de Harvard Business Review van juli/augustus. Kortetermijn winst- en bonusdenken heeft geleid tot executives die niet weten wat er aan de hand is en medewerkers die het niet meer interesseert wat er aan de hand is. Herstel van de organisatie als gemeenschap van betrokken mensen is volgens Mintzberg de enige oplossing.

Het gevoel dat mensen hebben ergens bij te horen en bij te dragen aan iets dat groter is dan henzelf is van levensbelang voor het voortbestaan van organisaties. En juist aan het gebrek van gemeenschapsgevoel in arbeidsorganisaties schort het al decennia, meent Mintzberg. Sociale innovatie is dringend gewenst, vooral op het vlak van wat leiderschap en management in het vervolg dienen in te houden. De managementopvattingen die wij tot nu toe hanteren moeten dan ook acuut herzien worden.

Wat is het probleem achter de crisis? Natuurlijk, de subprime hypotheken en ondoorzichtige en complexe financiële constructies die bedrijven als dominostenen hebben doen omvallen. Maar, het echte probleem achter de crisis is een andere stelt Mintzberg in zijn artikel Rebuilding Companies as Communities. De drijfveer achter het promoten van slechte hypotheken was niets anders dan hebzucht. De verkoop stimuleren om bonussen te vergroten was de werkelijke reden. Degenen die de subprime hypotheken zo hartstochtelijk aanprezen hadden volgens Mintzberg lak aan de gevolgen. Aan de andere kant verwijt hij de financiële instellingen die de rotte hypotheken aankochten gebrek aan sturing. Hun ‘leiderschap’ beperkte zich tot het op afstand uitroepen van commerciële doelstellingen die anderen moesten gaan behalen. Wat deze leiders hadden moeten doen is uit hun kantoor komen, de werkvloer op en meehelpen de bedrijfsprestaties verbeteren.

An internal French government document that outlines detailed plans and orders for the force vaccination of the French population using secure “vaccine” facilities and starting from September 28th has emerged.

The document dated August 21st and signed by the French Health Minister Rosaylne Batchelot-Narquin and the French Minister of Interior, Minister of the Interior, Overseas Territories Brice Hortefeux is addressed to the heads of each of France’s defense zones. the regional prefects in charge of police and the gendamerie, the prefects of departments and the heads of regional health authorities for hospitalization.

The objective of the 19-page document is the systematic vaccination of the entire French population in the period October, November, December 2009 and January 2010.

Secure facilities are to be established in every region that will serve as “vaccination centers”.

On page 3 the order is explicitly given that no medical establishments should serve as vaccine centers.

GPs are to play no role in the vaccination programme.

School age children are to be vaccinated by special mobile pandemic vaccination teams in their schools.

The largest vaccination facilities – Centers of Vaccination of a Large Capacity (Centres de vaccination de grande capacite (CVGC) – with added security (fonctionnement renforce) are calculated to vaccinate 2,100 people each day.

Vaccine “teams” are to work in parallel vaccinating people in three 4-hour blocs each day, and the document calculates that two teams operating in this way will allow 184,800 injections to be given to 92,400 people in a center working five days a week for the entire four month period of the mass vaccination campaign.

Lawyers for the bomber were to argue that an “elusive” terrorist codenamed Abu Elias planted the bomb in December 1988, causing the deaths of 270 innocent people. Megrahi is now expected to identify the man behind this alias.

The  Scottish Sunday Express tracked this man down to his home in the US, and he strongly denied having anything to do with the atrocity. However, we can reveal that he has connections to at least two international terrorists and a Palestinian terror group, as well as links to the US intelligence services.

The man, who works as a schools engineer for the US government, was to become the central figure in Megrahi’s aborted appeal.

‘Elias’, a commander in a Palestinian terror organisation, was identified as the CIA’s primary Lockerbie suspect but was never caught.

Sources close to Megrahi believe he may actually have been a double agent working for the FBI or the CIA. Last night the man, who we have chosen not to name, said: “Sorry, I don’t think that I can help in this case. It is a clear case of either mistaken identity and/or fabrication.

“I don’t wish my name to be mentioned in any capacity in the press. I am sure you understand the sensitivity of this matter since I have a family and children.”

However, Christine Grahame MSP, who visited Megrahi in Greenock prison and campaigned for his release, is believed to be considering naming the man in the Scottish Parliament chamber.

Segway worked with Nintendo programmers to get the experience of riding a virtual Segway x2 in the game as close the actual experience as possible.  Give it a try and you’ll see how much fun it is to master.  To operate the virtual Segway x2, you stand on the balance board and lean forward to make your Mii character ride forward.  To turn left and right, you lean a Wii remote left or right.  A combination of this activity sends your Mii in any direction you wish to travel.
