 Scientists have now accepted that the intersection of 2 problems -- the deterioration of Earth’s Magnetosphere during the Sun’s Polar shift in 2012 (as recently discussed) will be the real concern as we approach 2012.Now here’s the reason why:
Scientists have found two large leaks in Earth’s magnetosphere, the region around our planet that shields us from severe solar storms. Now in 2012 the suns poles will reverse (not the earths as wrongly said on many 2012 sites -- see below!) , during this time a massive solar storm will reck havoc on earth -- usually this is no problem -- but now due to the ‘cracks’ in it,
Earth’s protective Magnetosphere may fail us, so the violent solar and electromagnetic radiation will make it through and cause many problems to life as we know it (eg: disabling communication satellites, mobile phones, effective sleep patterns, & radiation poisoning of humans) Also as earth has to absorb extra radiation & energy this will cause possible changes within the earth’s core -- with energy being re-dissipated from the earth with new volcanoes formed and crust movement.
As mentioned in the Video below -- The leaks are defying many of scientists’ previous ideas on how the interaction between Earth’s magnetosphere and solar wind occurs: The leaks are in an unexpected location, let in solar particles in faster than expected and the whole interaction works in a manner that is completely the opposite of what scientists had thought.
Important Note:
many websites say Earths Poles will shift during 2012 but this is not true. According to NASA, Planet pole reversals (not suns -- which like ours can reverse poles quickly in a few years) take a few thousand years to complete, and during that time--contrary to popular belief--the magnetic field does not vanish - ”It just gets more complicated” -so this is probably why our Magnetosphere is going weird at the moment. (Another controversial idea is that the Earth’s magnetosphere could be influenced temporarily by our current position in the solar system in the Milky way as we past by a big black hole, however theories of the 2012 galactic plane alignment are heavy disputed at the moment ) - Either way its true that Earths
Magnetosphere is very weak at the moment and yes this is a sign of initial pole shifting but not complete pole reversal of Earth -- this won’t happen in 2012 as its a slow process and is predicted to take another 1200 years to complete. What is of major concern overall is how strong the Magnetosphere will be during the solar storms of 2012.

 Extradition of UK hacker Gary McKinnon to the U.S. might reveal that NASA defrauded taxpayers for billions of dollars. If McKinnon loses his fight against extradition he could face up to 70 years in prison if found guilty of breaking into military computers and NASA computers. Then again, maybe not.
McKinnon claims to have discovered NASA files containing evidence of UFOs of extraterrestrial origin. Numerous Disclosure Project whistle-blowers formerly with Top Secret security clearance have revealed that NASA has hidden, destroyed, or altered videos or photos that contained images of UFOs or extraterrestrial life forms.
NASA gets more than $17 billion each year in annual funding. That translates into about $30 million from Denver taxpayers and $245 million from Colorado taxpayers. A significant portion of that is used to “Look for signs of life in other planetary systems” – one of the NASA objectives previously stated on its web site.
 NASA’s web site has also stated “we are honest and ethical in all that we do”. And yet, NASA requests and allocates funding to “look for signs of life in other planetary systems”, while at the same time hiding, destroying or altering evidence of “signs of life” that it has already found.
McKinnonâs discovery has helped unveil not only possible fraud at NASA, but also the pathetic cyber-security in the U.S. also costing billions of dollars. The Obama administration is expected to implement another $15 billion in cyber-security upgrades. McKinnon could save the U.S. billions of dollars by exposing fraud while assisting in cyber-security upgrades.
If McKinnon had been a NASA employee, whistle-blower laws might have protected him. But currently these are weak laws. The Whistleblower Protection Act of 2007 needs passage but it has been held up by the Bush administration for obvious reasons.
According to a Summary of the Whistleblower Protection Enhancement Act of 2007, âThe bill would extend protections to ⊠Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Central Intelligence Agency, the Defense Intelligence Agency, the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, the National Security Agency, and the National Reconnaissance Officeâ and also âto employees of companies with government contracts.â It would also extend âprotections to employees of science-based agencies by providing that âabuse of authorityâ includes âany action that compromises the validity or accuracy of federally funded research and analysisâ and âthe dissemination of false or misleading scientific, medical, or technical informationâ.â The latter extension has NASA written all over it.
Coincidentally, the final decision by an UK judge on McKinnonâs fate will occur Jan. 20, 2009, the same day Barack Obama will be inaugurated as president. That could help McKinnon since members of the Obama Cabinet support disclosure of the âX-Filesâ on UFOs and extraterrestrial visitors. These files have been kept secret for more than 60 years by governments and a complicit media.
Remember Enron? One could easily conclude that NASA has been defrauding The People of the United States for billions of dollars. Maybe McKinnon should be rewarded, not punished.

 De Amerikaanse ruimtevaartorganisatie NASA en Microsoft dagen iedereen uit om marsmannetje te worden. De bedrijven hebben een interactieve website gemaakt waarop internetgebruikers de rode planeet kunnen onderzoeken.
Door het experiment kunnen mensen veel leren over Mars en wat NASA daar doet. Maar Nasa roept ook daadwerkelijk de hulp van de bezoekers in om onderzoek te doen.
Zo kun je helpen met het tellen van de kraters op Mars. Dat zijn er zoveel, dat het NASA nog niet gelukt is het precieze aantal in kaart te brengen. Verder staan er honderdduizenden foto’s op de website, waarvan er veel nog niet eerder gepubliceerd zijn.
Als je altijd al een dringende vraag had over de rode planeet, dan kun je die stellen aan Mars-experts. En wizzkids kunnen prijzen winnen als ze goede ideeën hebben voor software die de foto’s voor een breder publiek geschikt maken.
